DOW CHEMICAL LUNCH SESSION:

Tuesday, March 6 – 12:30 - 1:30

How Dow Chemical Planned and Managed their SAP® Data Migration Processes for EAM

Stephen Graham, Enterprise Systems Architect, The Dow Chemical Company

A successful data migration is critical for Enterprise Asset Management. Dow Chemical effectively managed their data migrations for SAP ECC, SRM, SCM, and GTS to enhance the value of their EAM. Due to acquisitions, inaccurate legacy systems, and the size and complexity of their data, Dow began the long-term project of migrating data into SAP. A successful data migration requires not only a successful methodology, but also accurate, business-relevant, and business-ready data. Examine how Dow effectively established quality data and actionable data metrics, and get tips on how to put processes in place to eliminate master and transactional data errors. See examples of qualitative and quantitative reports you can run to better understand the current state of your data.

• Reviewing, auditing, and correcting data prior to go-live is vital to the success
   of any SAP project
• Hear why data should be loaded several times prior to go-live, and get tips
for loading data early and often to eliminate potential errors
• Walk away with a clear understanding of how to manage data to eliminate
any data-related risk in your SAP project

Stephen Graham, The Dow Chemical Company
Stephen Graham is the Procure to Pay systems architect for The Dow Chemical Company and has more than years of experience defining and managing strategies for SAP directions for Dow projects (internal and acquisition based). Most recently, he was accountable for the data migration of the Rohm and Haas acquisition into the Dow SAP complex.

Wednesday, March 7 – 8:30 – 4:00 (optional and separately bookable)

Workshop 4: How to Fund Your Next Data Project

Peter Aynsley-Hartwell, VP of Solutions Consulting, Utopia, Inc.
Herb Hadley, Director of Solutions Consulting, Utopia, Inc.

Historically, problems in inventory, plant and maintenance management, spend analysis, and procurement, were solved by fixing master data quality. Advances in data governance, data cleansing, and taxonomy structures solved the problems of non-standard and duplicate data, for instance.

Going forward, EAM systems are configuring for an exponential further increase in the volume of data coming in from ever-increasing sources across the enterprise, whether real-time sensors, RFID tags, or "Smart Grid" information feeds into a utility's EAM system or technologies like mobile devices and in–memory computing that make "real time" decision making a reality. Using examples from successful companies, from this workshop you will understand and learn an approach that establishes a scalable framework for embarking on a roadmap for effective data management. You will acquire the tools to build a successful business case to gain executive buy-in to fix the last mile in the EAM data puzzle so that your organization can maximize ROI on their EAM investments.
