Workshop 4: How to Build a Business Case to Fix the Last Mile in EAM

Historically, problems in inventory, plant and maintenance management, spend analysis, and procurement, were solved by fixing master data quality. Advances in data governance, data cleansing, and taxonomy structures solved the problems of non-standard and duplicate data, for instance.

Going forward, EAM systems are configuring for an exponential further increase in the volume of data coming in from ever-increasing sources across the enterprise, whether real-time sensors, RFID tags, or "Smart Grid" information feeds into a utility's EAM system or technologies like mobile devices and in–memory computing that make "real time" decision making a reality.
